Development kit offers introduction to RFID systems.

Harting have introduced a new introductory kit for engineers who are looking to implement RFID solutions.

Designed specifically to help new users understand the ease and flexibility of configuring RFID solutions, the development kit contains everything they need to get started. Potential users can configure their own applications, as well as familiarising themselves with the functionality and terminology used.

Hardware supplied with the kit includes Harting's Ha-VIS RF-R200 RFID Reader with PoE (Power over Ethernet) connectivity, the RF-R200 desktop power supply, Ha-VIS FT89 small RFID transponders (50 pieces), a Ha-VIS LOCFIELD antenna (0.3 m active length, 0.6 m total length), and a 1 m Ethernet patch cable. These are supported by the relevant data sheets, the RF-R200 user manual, and the Ha-VIS configurator tool.

Harting's RFID range is fully integrated to provide a complete solution from a single source, suitable for use in almost any industrial application that requires a rugged and reliable RFID system. Designed to work on metal surfaces for maximum performance, Harting's RFID solutions have an extended temperature range from -25°C to +85°C and are compliant with GS1 EPC ALE 1.1.

The Harting RFID product portfolio provides long read range capabilities with 50G shock resistance, along with the opportunity of a tailored reading zone with the unique Harting LOCFIELD antenna.
