Bringing IIoT to life!

During CERAWeek 2017 by IHS Markit (March 6-10 in Houston TX USA), Emerson at CERAWeek brings the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) to life with a series of Integrated Operations (iOps) simulations, including augmented reality helmets and mobility tools that demonstrate the future of real-time operations and the manufacturing worker of the future.

New automation and digitisation technologies deliver measurable business improvements to oil and gas companies. Demonstrating the “ROI from Big Data” investments at CERAWeek’s first-ever Technology Agora, they explore the critical role of technology and innovation in the global energy future.

The company features an iOps Command Centre that relies on automation, pervasive sensing, remote monitoring, augmented reality and IoT technologies to remove physical barriers and improve decision making for operational improvements. Emerson helps oil and gas companies more easily and effectively access and use tens of thousands of data points to achieve top performance in operations, reliability, energy management, and safety in facilities ranging from oil and gas wells to offshore platforms, refineries and petrochemical plants.

At the iOps Command Centre they demonstrate how a real-world shale gas operation harnesses the power of Industrial IoT to expand digital intelligence to the entire manufacturing enterprise. It provides a clear business case for Industrial IoT investment, with an emphasis on targeting specific business challenges and achieving measurable success with limited investment.

“Market volatility is driving a cautious ‘grind it out’ mentality, yet company operating performance goals demand new, transformational thinking and action,” says Mike Train, Emerson Automation Solutions president. “Technology offers a vast set of new options, and Emerson will demonstrate how to put the ROI in IOT.”

The Emerson iOps and Augmented Reality experience is available until next Friday, March 10, in the Technology Agora at CERAWeek 2017.

Emerson speakers at CERAWeek 2017 include Emerson CEO David Farr on “Whatever Happened to Globalisation”; Emerson President Ed Monser on “Gas and its Markets”; Emerson Automation Solutions President Mike Train on “Service Company Strategies: Positioning for the Future”; and Emerson Automation Solutions Chief Strategic Officer Peter Zornio on “Technology Innovation in Energy Sector: Evolution or Revolution?”.
